Penn Squall II Levelwind Reels
Penn Squall II Levelwind Reels were engineered for bottom fishing and fishing wrecks. These reels have been completely re-engineered from the previous generation to create a series that is lightweight, corrosion resistant and very powerful. The HT-100 drag system puts out up to 33 lbs of drag! Paired with a bronze main gear a stainless steel pinion and a low 4.0:1-4.9:1 (depending on the model) gear ratio, these reels can handle heavy loads. If you're bottom fishing in deep water, you can't go wrong with a Penn Squall II Levelwind Reel! Penn incorporated their Fast Gear Access side plate so when you have to service your reel it comes apart easily and parts don't fly out of place. They added an additional shielded stainless steel ball bearing for a total of four and the handle has a really nice elongated rubberized football power knob. The clutch does not auto-engage so you will have to pop it back up into gear when you use the reel. The levelwind system is great and continues to move even when in freespool. The Squall II also has a loud clicker and Penn reduced the size of the reel foot so it will fit on most modern fishing rods.
